Winter in Plett
Admittedly winter is not my favourite season, however I know we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the other 3 seasons were we to omit the current cold one.
Our winter in Plett has really been quite mild with some special, warm days! Unfortunately, we are now experiencing a very cold period, with temperatures falling to 7 degrees. We have the fires burning and our woollies have made an appearance.
Cornerway House has two fireplaces. A hearty breakfast is served in the dining room next to a crackling fire. In our sitting room we have a little ceramic fireplace made by a local potter, which warms the room. Guests enjoy time there after their dinner, or indeed on a cold afternoon after a visit to one of the amazing sights and experiences that Plett has to offer.
Our gardeners have been hard at work fertilising, pruning and adding new features and plants to our wonderful garden. We are enjoying the delicious scents from Jasmine, Yesterday and Tomorrow amongst others. The Arums are punctuating the different greens, with their perfect white blooms. Our feathery plectranthus flutter and the camelias burst!
We are looking forward to a spectacular array of colour as our climbing sweet peas are looking very healthy.
